How is the drive into the Park? Can you make in a normal car or you need an SUV or 4x4?

Hi, I booked a tour from Casa Verde hostel. we went to the entrance of the Park with there jeep. No need for 4x4. We also stoped at the mirador to take photos on the way.
So anyone can drive themselves to the park entrance and then wait to join the main group to hike up Santa Ana which leaves around 11am? I'm planning to rent a car while I'm in El Salvador but I hadn't seen many posts from people driving themselves to make this hike, only taking buses from the town of Santa Ana.
