Andy Robertson has offered a glowing assessment of Liverpool transfer target Florian Wirtz and revealed his own chastening experience against the 22-year-old. The Reds have been negotiating a deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Wirtz for several weeks and are seemingly close to finalising a transfer.

In the first blockbuster signing of the 2025 summer transfer window, Liverpool has reportedly sealed a $171 million deal to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.

Liverpool made an improved second offer for the 22–year-old Germany playmaker last week worth around £113m, with about £100m guaranteed.
