India’s Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the final test against England with a foot fracture. India coach Gautam Gambhir confirmed Pant’s injury for the first time after the visitors salvaged a draw in the fourth test at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Rishabh Pant, who sustained a fracture to his right foot during the fourth Test against England in Manchester, has been ruled out of the fifth and final Test of the series.

India have added Narayan Jagadeesan to their squad for the fifth Test against England at The Oval as his cover. Jagadeesan has amassed 3373 runs from 52 first-class matches, which includes 10 centuries and 14 half-centuries, at an average of 47.50.
