A day before the scheduled meeting with Jets owner Woody Johnson, Ryan believes he’s the best candidate for the job and that he will get his old job back.

The New York Jets are on the hunt for a new head coach and could be going back to an old friend to fill the vacancy. Rex Ryan, who coached the Jets from 2009-2014, is slated to interview for his old position this week.

Somebody tell Rex Ryan that election season is over. It’s safe to say he didn’t get the message considering how hard he’s campaigning for the Jets’ head coaching job.
