Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented her second budget on February 1 2020, during which Sensex and Nifty traded in the negative zone. The NSE Nifty index ended 2.5 per cent lower below the 11,700-mark while the 30-share Sensex pack ended 988 points.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a tepid start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 23,150 level, a premium of nearly 2 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.
