Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to “an immediate and unconditional ceasefire” starting at midnight, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said.
Despite the initial jitters, military commanders from both sides held talks and agreed to maintain the ceasefire, stop any troop movement, and facilitate the return of the wounded and dead, Thai army spokesman Major-General Winthai Suvaree said.
The Thailand-Cambodia border, where fighting has raged since last week, was calm on Tuesday following a ceasefire deal and military commanders from both sides are set to meet for talks later in the day,
