NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has nearly the whole state in a Level 2 out of 5 (slight) risk for severe weather today. A Level 2 risk means that scattered severe storms will be possible. The immediate coast has a Level 1 risk today and could get isolated severe storms.

A spring filled with heavy-hitting weather is ratcheting up once more, as forecasters are warning residents across parts of Texas of "a potentially significant severe threat" Sunday evening. The nasty weather was already moving across North Texas on Sunday morning.

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Collin, Denton, Fannin, Delta, Hopkins, Lamar and Hunt counties until 11:45 p.m. Winds of 70 mph and penny-size hail are possible. These severe thunderstorms will affect areas from Plano to Blue Ridge to Wolfe City to Paris.
