Car fire in Caldecott Tunnel snarls traffic on Highway 24
OAKLAND – Traffic was snarled Wednesday afternoon on eastbound Highway 24 after a car caught fire in the Caldecott Tunnel. The fire stemmed from a two-vehicle collision just after 4 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The Oakland Fire Department said the blaze broke out about 400 feet into the tunnel.
