Billy Flynn announced he is leaving 'Days of Our Lives' after a decade to join 'The Young and the Restless' cast

Billy Flynn is leaving Days of Our Lives. The actor who first joined the Peacock sudser in 2014 to play Chad DiMera is moving to CBS’ The Young and the Restless in a new role. He will debut sometime this spring on the daytime drama.

Details of Flynn’s Young and the Restless character remain under wraps. Young and the Restless head writer Josh Griffith, who previously worked alongside Flynn on Days of Our Lives, shared a statement to Variety welcoming Flynn to the cast.

In a surprise casting move, Billy Flynn, who recently marked 10 years as Chad DiMera on Days of Our Lives, is moving to Genoa City and will make his debut on The Young and the Restless later this spring in a new role.

Since its first episode aired in 1965, the daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives has seen its fair share of actors joining and leaving the series. But it appears that a recently announced departure from the show will be a gain for another soap that's currently on the air.
