I did this a while back on 10.3.something and had no problems. What OS are you on? (If everything fails on your end, shoot me an email and I can upload the .dmg for you to grab, I guess.) ...
If you have your cd keys just borrow a friends install CD but use your keys. I don't see how that would be illegal at all since you're still using things you paid for (the d2x CD and the cd keys).
