In Wednesday's (May 22) 10,000th episode of Emmerdale, the action picked up directly in the aftermath of Ethan being run down in this mysterious hit-and-run car crash.

So far, Emmerdale hasn't given an official cause of death for Ethan, but we can now see that the show has been subtly building up to his final scenes for several weeks.
