The Los Angeles Zoo announced Tuesday that it will relocate its only two remaining Asian elephants to an expansive preserve at the Tulsa Zoo in Oklahoma.

Billy, 40, and Tina, 59, will be moved to the Elephant Experience and Preserve at the Tulsa Zoo. Officials say they made the decision with the elephants' care and well-being at top of mind.

The decision by officials at the Los Angeles Zoo to send two of its aging elephants not to a sanctuary but instead another zoo in Oklahoma has sparked controversy among some animal rights activists. Sandra Mitchell reports April 22,
