Firefighters in North Carolina gain movement on containing two of the state's largest fires, while South Carolina's largest fire doubles in size

In 2009, another large wildfire hit Horry County, where it burned more than 19,000 acres. Seven years later, the largest mountain wildfire in South Carolina's history ignited and burned more than 10,600 acres in Table Rock State Park after a campfire grew out of control.

Firefighters announced progress Wednesday night on containing two of the largest wildfires burning in the North Carolina mountains, but warned that fire danger remained from dry and windy conditions.
