It may have looked like the octopus was going in for a "hug" but something much more fascinating was taking place.

Britney Taryn, the boy's mom, has gone viral on TikTok after posting about her son's encounter with a giant Pacific octopus on July 14.

Britney Taryn said her 6-year-old son has visited the Giant Pacific Octopus many times. Previously, the animal let her son go, but not on July 14.

The octopus wrapped its tentacles around the boy's arm and wouldn’t let go.
