Riverside County officials touted significant strides in the multiyear effort to restore the Santa Ana River bottom.
The fire was reported around 2:30 p.m. Saturday near the 2900 block of Dexter Drive in the Santa Ana River bottom where firefighters found the 25-feet-by-25-feet patch of burning vegetation.
