Petra Kvitova’s professional tennis career has ended at the U.S. Open. The two-time Wimbledon champion was eliminated in the first round in New York by Diane Parry 6-1, 6-0 in 52 minutes on Monday.

In her first-round morning match, Petra Kvitova retired from professional tennis after losing 6-1, 6-0 to Frenchwoman Dianne Parry at the Grandstand on Day 2 of the year’s Grand Slam finale in Flushing. Very few fans were there to witness the event, as traffic chaos prevented many from entering the grounds for the 11 a.m. match start.

Petra Kvitova looked to her right as she sat down in the U.S. Open’s main interview room for her final post-match news conference as a professional tennis player, and the two-time Wimbledon champion saw what she was hoping for.
