As of 30th June, Nintendo had sold 5.82 million Switch 2s (3.5 million in the first four days) along with 5.63 million copies of Mario Kart World, including the digital downloads included in the popular Mario Kart hardware bundle. Overall Switch 2 software sales totalled 8.67 million units.

Nintendo’s Q1 2026 earnings report was released earlier today and revealed that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe added another 660,000 unit sales to its total during the quarter that also saw the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 and Mario Kart World. This brings the lifetime sales of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to 68,860,000.
