Three Penn State Nittany Lions are on the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award, given to the nation's top college football player by the Maxwell Football Club.

Three Penn State seniors were named Monday to the watch list for the Maxwell Award, presented to the nation’s outstanding college football player. Quarterback Drew Allar and running backs Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen are among the 80 players recognized. Penn State is the only team with three players on the list.

The Maxwell Award has been presented to the College Player of the Year since 1937 and is named in honor of Robert “Tiny” Maxwell who was a former standout at the Swarthmore College and a renowned sportswriter and football official.
