Jelena Ostapenko beat world number one Aryna Sabalenka to win the Stuttgart Open in stunning fashion. Ostapenko, who had failed to win in three previous meetings against Sabalenka, took the match 6-4 6-1.

Stuttgart featured a compelling showdown between World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko. Sabalenka came into the match as a favorite, however Jelena Ostapenko, unseeded in the tournament, who made a remarkable run to the final, had other ideas.
