The event will be back on schedule for the final day, after a weather delay suspended play in the second round on Friday and forced an early morning on Saturday to finish out the round. The third round was also pushed back from its originally scheduled start as a result, but finished on Saturday evening.
Oakmont lived up to its reputation with a scoring average of about 74.6 despite a course still relatively soft from rain and moderate wind that didn’t stick around for long.

J.J. Spaun shot a bogey-free 66 in the first round of the U.S. Open at Oakmont, tying the record for the lowest opening round score at that course in a U.S. Open. Spaun made four birdies in his first eight holes and then made 10 consecutive pars, including several long putts.
