Turnbull is the third player from last season's Phillies squad playing with the Jays right now. Turnbull was a late spring signing and made his debut for the team Wednesday pitching two scoreless innings. The Phils did not show any reported interest when Turnbull was looking for a team as a free agent a few weeks ago.

In Harper’s place at first base on Wednesday was recently promoted prospect Otto Kemp. The 25-year-old logged a hit and a run in the win and the Phillies announced that he will be a big part of the team’s Harper replacement plan going forward.

Ian Happ homered twice, including a two-run shot in the sixth inning that rallied the Chicago Cubs to an 8-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.

At season's end, Schwarber, Realmuto, Kepler and Ranger Suárez will be free agents. There has not been much chatter about extensions lately, particularly with Schwarber's impressive power this season. One has to wonder if that is the Phillies' plan.
