Austin FC will be looking for another new designated player after selling Sebastián Driussi to Argentinean club River Plate.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Sebastián Driussi is rejoining Argentine club River Plate after four years with Austin in Major League Soccer. The 28-year-old Driussi scored 51 goals with 22 assists over 115 games in all competitions. He was an All-Star in 2022.

Austin FC have confirmed the transfer of midfielder Sebastián Driussi to River Plate for a club-record transfer fee on Friday. The news arrives after the 28-year-old was heavily linked with an MLS exit to join the Argentine giants. He departs as the club's all-time leading scorer.
