Netflix upped the ante in the biggest of ways with the airing of a live NFL game, none other than a Christmas Day showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

And that’s the case on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, with two games on the calendar as part of Week 17 of the NFL season. One of them is the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers on Netflix. And if you’re here, you might be wondering: who are those voices you’re hearing on the broadcast of the streaming game?

The Chiefs come into this game riding a five-game winning streak, including a 27-19 win over the Texans last week. Patrick Mahomes continues to be the gift that keeps on giving, throwing, and running for touchdowns while leading Kansas City to the league’s best record.

Netflix and the NFL have had a relationship for a couple years, starting in 2023 with the docuseries “Quarterback,” which followed Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota during the 2022-23 NFL season. In July, Netflix released “Receiver,” which follows five of the NFL’s best pass catchers through the 2023 season.

Announced earlier this year, Christmas Day marks the beginning of the NFL's expansion onto the popular streaming service, with two games on tap for this year: the Chiefs and Steelers in the opener at 1 p.m. ET, followed by the Ravens and Texans in the day's second game at 4:30 p.m. ET.

The betting odds for today’s Chiefs-Steelers game changed in the hours up to kickoff. Kansas City went from being listed at -2.5 points to -2 points and the over/under went from 44 points to 46 points in pregame betting at BetMGM.
