A motion for a new trial in the case against a former Columbus police officer found guilty in the 2020 murder of Andrew Hill was heard on Monday morning.

On April 7, the town of Mars Hill approved a resolution to apply for a Parks and Recreation Trust Fund grant for a 75-acre conservation project.
