The Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway has scaled new heights ... marking 200 years of heritage railways in the UK and the 150th anniversary of the country’s first funicular railway.

The now-defunct fund had previously enabled Lynton and Lynmouth Town Councils to save and revamp local toilets. Other villages had hoped to use it to set up cafés, shops or community halls.
