Multnomah County sheriff’s deputies found a body in the Willamette River on Sunday. The River Patrol Unit responded to a call at about 4 p.m. and quickly located and recovered the body, the sheriff’s office said.

A body found late Sunday afternoon in the Willamette River "appears to have been under water for some time," the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office said.

As agencies searched the Willamette River for a kayaker who was last seen near Oregon City, the body of another person was found in the water in North Portland.
