Two tracker maps from the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and Central Pacific Hurricane Center show how the paths of Hurricane Ione and Tropical Storm Keli are forming. Hurricane Iona formed on Monday after undergoing rapid intensification. Shortly after Iona formed, Tropical Storm Keli also developed.

Two tropical cyclones were swirling across the ocean southeast of Hawaii after developing on Monday but were not expected to cause any issues for the islands.

Keli was a tropical storm in the North Pacific Ocean late Monday Hawaii time, the National Hurricane Center said in its latest advisory. Keli was forecast to track well south of Hawaii and did not pose a threat to land.
