The use of a single pot of government funding has been hailed as a "significant enabler" in a case study of the region by Steer Economic Developments, published by the government.

MCI Developments has gotten all-clear from councillors to build 48 apartments and 110 houses on 12 acres of Trub Farm off Manchester Road.

The investor has subdivided the 10,600 sq ft Canning Street store and let it to a car repair shop, a chicken restaurant, an angling supplies outlet, and a tanning salon.
