A 25-year-old man died while snowboarding at a Lake Tahoe-area resort last weekend. Roman Lacayo fell and hit his head Saturday while snowboarding at Kirkwood Mountain Resort and died a short time later, his family said. He was not wearing a helmet.

A 25-year-old snowboarder from Corona, California, died Saturday at Kirkwood Mountain Resort near Lake Tahoe, authorities said. The Alpine County Sheriff and Coroner’s office identified the man as Roman Lacayo and said he died from a major head injury sustained in an accident on the mountain.
