Most galleries are famous for the art they have. The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, however, is now more famous for the artwork that’s no longer there.
The mural depicts Frog and Toad in a series of vignettes inspired by Lobel’s illustrations with Giordano’s love of “psychedelic, punch-you-in-the face color” replacing his earthy palette.
