According to ESPN senior NFL report Jeremy Fowler, the team is making several coaching changes to the defensive staff. Fowler posted on Wednesday that the Panthers will be parting ways with outside linebackers coach Tem Lukabu, secondary coach Bert Watts and defensive quality control coach Bobby Maffei.

The Carolina Panthers will make some changes to their defensive staff after all. While defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero will return, two of his top assistants won’t be back.

Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales told reporters that Ejiro Evero "will be our defensive coordinator" when asked about potential staff changes. But he did, however, leave the door open for other moves to be made.

The NHL announced Wednesday that the Florida Panthers will host the 2026 Winter Classic, facing the New York Rangers on Jan. 2 at loanDepot park, home of the Miami Marlins. “Our time has come that we deserve an outdoor game,” Panthers president and CEO Matt Caldwell said. “We’re fired up to have it right here locally.”

For the first time in the event's history, the Winter Classic will be headed to South Florida. Per an announcement from the NHL, the league announced the Florida Panthers will take on the New York Rangers in the 2026 Winter Classic on Jan.
