The Ukrainian military says it has carried out a strike on a Russian command post in Maryino, in the Kursk region, where Ukrainian forces hold chunks of territory after a major incursion.

The strike targeted the 810th Russian Brigade, resulting in significant losses, according to Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine’s counter-disinformation center.

On January 2, the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a precision strike on the command post of the Russian army in the settlement of Mariino, located in the Kursk region, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Ukrainians use drones for various tasks, including pairing micro-drones with armoured vehicle crews. While this concept remains futuristic in the West, Ukrainians are already testing it in combat conditions.

One of the drones flew back to Russia and another to Belarus. The drones were launched from Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, Bryansk and Orel oblasts, as well as from occupied Crimea. Earlier, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported thatat least four people had been injured in a Russian drone attack on the Ukrainian capital on the first day of the New Year.
