Parents at the Primary School, the tuition-free private institution funded by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative serving low-income families in Silicon Valley and the East Bay, said they were shocked to learn that it is shutting down next year — and are worried about where to send their kids to school.

The Primary School, a tuition-free private school with 543 students co-founded by Mark Zuckerberg’s wife Priscilla Chan, will shutter its doors after roughly a decade in operation.
