U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett vowed Thursday night to help defeat an attempt to redraw Texas’ congressional districts, an effort that has sparked a fierce partisan battle in Austin that could have national implications.

Crockett said she was asked to verify her address before Republicans unveiled the congressional redistricting proposal.
