Cambodia and Thailand agreed to an "immediate and unconditional" ceasefire Monday after five days of intense fighting along their shared border. The ceasefire, negotiated in Malaysia with involvement from the U.S. and China, took effect at midnight.

BANGKOK/PHNOM PENH,July 28 (Reuters) - A ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand came into effect at midnight (1700 GMT) on Monday, hours after they agreed to halt their deadliest conflict in more than a decade following five days of intense fighting that displaced over 300,000 people.

The Thailand-Cambodia conflict is another possible chance for China’s arms to be displayed as being at least as good as Western—specifically, American—arms.
