Victor is portrayed as the patriarch of a rich family. However, the writers have also (possibly without intent) painted him as the cause of one of the most dysfunctional families ever portrayed on television long term. And, like the typically abusive patriarch, he does it all under the mantra “Family is everything”.

Regardless of what Claire done to Nikki, Victor would’ve easily accepted her if she was his child. And her having a family relationship with Adam would also help the character too. Both characters are outsiders within the family who done messed up things to their own family.
