Hot Water Cornbread (makes 4) This is one of my favorites from my childhood, I hope that y'all enjoy the video. 1/2 C. self rising cornmeal 1/4 C. hot tap water pinch of salt Mix together, should be like a thin pancake batter. Heat 1/4" vegetable oil in a skillet to 325 degrees. Drop by 1/4 C. measurments into the oil and fry for about a minute per side. Drain on paper towels. NOTE: If using plain cornmeal, add a pinch of baking soda to it, no need to add any more salt, the pinch in the recipe w

We had a fantastic performance from Carla Gover and Yoni Vozos featuring our 3rd and 4th grade students as well as a number of vendors who were able to showcase their amazing talents. We also had a delicious Appalachian meal which included chicken and dumplings, greens, pinto beans and corn bread, and banana pudding! It was wonderful to see our community come together to celebrate all things Appalachia! #FS
