This is the Faquetaique Courir de Mardi Gras, a traditional Cajun Mardi Gras run held out on the prairie near Eunice, Louisiana. At this Mardi Gras, everyone participates. There are no spectators, and all walks of life are welcome as long as you show up in full traditional costume: a handmade suit, a mask, and the tall pointed hat called a capuchon.
