Recently published by the Naval Institute Press, "The Herndon Climb" (https://tinyurl.com/y2tayu4s) details the history of the United States Naval Academy tradition of Midshipman working as a team to climb a greased 21-foot tall monument to mark the end of their plebe year. It would be interesting if USNA made the climb even more challenging by combining it with Bo-taoshi, a game traditonally played by Japanese cadets at the National Defense Academy. | U.S. Naval Institute

#MovieMonday - "Heartbreak Ridge" (1986) starring Clint Eastwood is one fo the few films depicting the 1983 U.S. invasion of Grenada. After being rejected by the Army because they did not like the image that Eastwood's character projected, the script was rewritten to feature a platoon of Marines.
