The 4th and final cause of left-turning tendencies is Gyroscopic Precession. This primarily affects tailwheel planes in the takeoff phase of flight. Think of our propeller like a disc, spinning in front of the airplane. Physics tells us that if we apply a force to that disc, it will be felt 90 degrees from that point. So, if we’re in a tailwheel, as we advance power for takeoff, we’re going to push forward on the stick or yoke to lift the tail. Think of this action as applying a force to the top
