P, for Pandanggo. A favorite dance of Filipinos during the Spanish Occupation, the pandanggo takes its roots from the original Spanish fandango: a lively dance done to a slow-to-quick rhythm. Usually performed for entertainment and merrymaking, the pandanggo has many forms, such as the pandanggo Ivatan, Dumagueteño, and Rinconada, so named after their places of origin.
