#WeatherUpdate #2 Wed 14/1 950am Showers/weak storms hitting the cooler maritime air boundary over the Sydney basin and falling apart. Some light to moderate showers in the far west / north west & north. Elsewhere fairly chunky dark-based cumulus forming across most of the Basin as Tasman Sea moisture pours in. You can see though as they get higher they shred and fall apart, showing that mid-level drier air and the lack of heating to punch through it. #weatheroutlook #Sydney #SydneyWeatherNerds

A low and cold front in the Tasman Sea is driving strong to gale force winds and hazardous and damaging surf for much of the NSW coast today. Severe Weather Warnings are current for damaging winds and damaging and hazardous surf today as winds and surf about the coast could bring down trees and cause localised damage and possible coastal erosion. Conditions should ease tonight with a calmer sunnier Monday on the way though hazardous surf may continue into Monday for some parts of the NSW coast.
