Jaguar was founded in 1922 as the Swallow Sidecar Company by William Lyons and William Walmsley in Blackpool, England, initially producing motorcycle sidecars. After moving to Coventry, the company began crafting stylish car bodies for other manufacturers. In 1935, it launched the SS Jaguar, its first car, known for sleek design and performance, establishing Jaguar’s reputation for luxury and sportiness. Post-World War II, Jaguar rebranded from SS Cars to Jaguar Cars to avoid Nazi connotations.
